Runnymede Capital Management Honored at NJ Family Business of the Year Awards

Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Honors Finest Family Businesses in the State

Runnymede Capital Management was named one of New Jersey’s most outstanding family-owned enterprises by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s nationally ranked Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards recognizes family firms that best exemplify strong businesses acumen, active family engagement, innovation, and community involvement.

For over 23 years, Runnymede Capital Management has helped families, institutions, and small businesses manage their investments through many market cycles. The firm’s team provides planning, disciplined investing, and has a unique record of protecting client’s accounts during the major bear markets of 1987, 2000, and 2008.

Runnymede is a dedicated, family-owned business founded by Samson Wang and Pauline, his wife of 47 years. Before embarking on the American dream of working for himself, Sam was previously Director of Research at the Bank of New York and President of Beacon Capital Management where he was Chief Investment Officer to the bank’s pension fund and other prestigious clients including the Dow Jones Profit Sharing Plan, Melville Corporation, and The Children’s Aid Society. Andrew and Chris, the founders’ two sons, both graduates of Chatham High School, joined the firm in 1998 and 2003, respectively. The second generation leadership has ambitious plans for the firm’s future.

“Our clients are central to our success so we remain dedicated to providing the best services and roadmaps to their financial success and peace of mind,” said Andrew Wang, Managing Partner. “We are blessed to have one foot rooted in tradition, learning from our father’s keen experience and investment disciplines. At the same time, we must be innovative by leveraging technology and finding new ways to meet our clients’ ever changing needs.”

Governor Chris Christie wrote the Wang family a letter that reads, “On behalf of the State of New Jersey, I am pleased to congratulate Runnymede Capital Management on being selected as a 2016 Family Business of the Year. The ingenuity and devotion of family entrepreneurs like you creates prosperity for our State’s residents, and this prestigious recognition is a testament to your ingenuity, perseverance and dedication to thrive in today’s marketplace.”
