NJ Homeowners Could Make Bank Renting Their Homes During The World Cup: What To Know

New Jersey homeowners sitting within miles of MetLife Stadium have a rare opportunity to cash in this summer. Airbnb is offering first-time hosts a $750 reward to list their properties ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026.

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford will host a total of eight matches, beginning with Brazil vs. Morocco on June 13 and culminating with the World Cup championship on July 19.

Against that backdrop, Airbnb — an official tournament supporter in North America — is offering $750 to new hosts who list an entire home in an eligible event zone and complete a qualifying reservation by July 31.

Dozens of New Jersey zip codes spanning Hudson, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, and Union counties fall within the eligible zone.

To qualify, a host must be new to Airbnb or have had no active home listings as of Feb. 1, 2026; submit their information on the reward landing page before publishing or have received the offer directly from Airbnb via email; list an entire home in an eligible zone; and complete a reservation with a total price of at least $100 before taxes by July 31, 2026.

The reward is paid through the host's default payout method within 45 days of the completed stay. Canceled bookings are not eligible, and each host may receive one reward only. Prospective hosts can sign up at airbnb.com/e/fifa-new-host.

The MetLife Stadium will host five high-profile group stage matchups featuring global powerhouses such as Brazil, France, Germany, and England, followed by a Round of 32, a Round of 16, and the Final.

The stadium will be rebranded as "New York New Jersey Stadium" for the duration of the tournament due to FIFA sponsorship policies.
