
received a special distinction Thursday when Wine Spectator announced its 2011 Restaurant Wine List Awards Program.
The borough restaurant was one of 2,827 restaurants nationwide to win an Award of Excellence from the national magazine, which recognizes restaurants with a well-rounded and "quality wine list of at least 100 selections," according to the Wine Spectator website.
Chef James Laird and Nancy Sheridan Laird opened Restaurant Serenade in 1996. The chefs specialize in contemporary French cuisine and often feature herbs and produce from the Laird's own garden.

According to the magazine website, over 3,700 restaurants from around the world earned an award this year.
