After inclement weather postponed the Chatham High women's tennis match against Hanover Park, the team instead practiced for its matchup against Randolph High School. The match was scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m., but due to more inclement weather has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
"Randolph is a pretty good team, It should be a pretty good battle," Chatham head coach Bruce Humphreys said.
In preparation for Randolph, Humphreys has worked the girls tirelessly on fundamentals. "We've been working on our focus levels and moving our feet a lot," junior standout Emily Barbey said. "It reflects in the game."

If Chatham is to succeed and improve to 9-1 on the season, Barbey will have to play an intricate role. Barbey is in her first season participating as the team's No. 3 singles player and has lost only one match.
"She's hitting consistent and serving well, she's also moving the ball around the court with some pace," Humphreys said.

Chatham has high, but reasonable expectations for the rest of this season. "We want to go undefeated in the conference, which we did last year," Barbey said.
"We are constantly working to improve consistency and deal with the harder hitters," said Humphreys, who added, "we need everyone; it is going to be a team effort."
