Turkey Trot Turns 10 In Chatham
Residents will 'run for their turkey' at the annual charity event Thursday.
CHATHAM, NJ - As a kick-off to the Holiday Season The Chatham Turkey Trot will host its 10th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in the Highlands section of Chatham Township Thursday.
“We invite runners and walkers, old and young, expert and novice, to participate in the 10th Annual Chatham Turkey Trot," said Chatham Township Mayor and President and Founder of the Chatham Turkey Trot Curt Ritter. "Whether you choose to participate in the 1 Mile Family Fun Run or our USA Track & Field certified 5K Race, it’s always great fun with family, friends, and neighbors as we come together as a community to kick-off the Holiday Season."
The race is scheduled for the Highlands section of Chatham Township at the corner of Seminole Way and 110 Van Houton Ave. In addition to the race, the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department will hang a 50-foot American flag from Ladder 12, its 100 foot aerial ladder truck, above the race course as runners race through what the organizers call one of the most scenic neighborhoods of Chatham Township.
