Two Teens Arrested After Party on North Passaic Avenue

The 16-year old juveniles were charged with drug-related violations.

The fallout continues from a party at a house on North Passaic Avenue July 24 during which discarded beer bottles, liquor bottles, a baggie of marijuana and a marijuana bong were found in the home's backyard.

Chatham Borough police said several underage youths were at the home when they showed up to investigate a complaint of excessive noise. They said they found the juveniles in the backyard along with the bottles and the marijuana.

A 16-year old Clifton resident who was at the party was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. And police said a fellow 16-year old from Chatham Borough was charged with possession of marijuana, maintaining a nuisance and offering alcoholic beverages to underage person(s).

Their names were not made available because they are both under 18.

Parents of the juveniles were notified to pick up their children at the home after officers arrived, police said. Police said two people over the age of 18 at the home who were drinking alcohol were picked up by a friend.

The Clifton resident's case will be transferred to the Passaic County Juvenile Probation Office for disposition, while the Chatham Borough teen's matter will be dealt with in Morris County Family Court.
