'Two Views' Art Exhibit Opens Friday Night

Nicholas F. Rizzo Gallery holds opening reception.

Nicholas F. Rizzo Fine Arts hosts an artist's reception Friday from 5:30 7:30 p.m., to kick off its exhibit of Two Views, which will remain on display through Nov. 5.

The exhibit features the artwork of Doris Boutilier and Carol Staub, who will both be present at the reception on Friday. This exhibition juxtaposes the work of two women artists with very different viewpoints and painting styles.

Boutilier has been quietly creating colorful still life paintings since 1976.  "She skillfully combines a clean, vibrant palette with thoughtfully 'posed' everyday household objects, such as bowls, jars, glasses  in often unexpected arrangements that exhilarate the viewer with their freshness and simplicity," said Brenda Rizzo, of the Nicholas F. Rizzo Fine Arts Gallery, located on Watchung Road in Chatham.

Boutilier has had many solo exhibitions and participated in many group shows around the state.

Staub began her art career just 10 years ago, focusing purely non-objective art. Her previous life was a 26-year-career in business. She has received more than 70 national and international awards and her work has been featured in many publications.
