1 Dead, 1 Injured in Early-Morning Shooting in Cherry Hill

Two people were shot inside a car following an altercation at the Inn of the Dove early Sunday morning.

Cherry Hill, NJ -- One person is dead and another is injured following an early morning shooting in Cherry Hill, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Cherry Hill Police Department said Sunday night.

The victims were shot while inside a car in the parking lot near the front entrance of the Inn of the Dove complex, located at 725 Cuthbert Boulevard.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an altercation during a party in one of the rooms.

Police reported to the scene around 2:24 a.m. for a report of a person being shot. While en route, police learned that the two people had been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden in a private vehicle.

One victim, Jadyre Gordon, 17, of Camden, was transported from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital to Cooper University Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:37 a.m.

The other victim, a 20-year-old Willingboro man, was treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and later released.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
