1 Dead, Firefighter Injured In Cherry Hill Blaze

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A person died and a firefighter was injured in connection with a residential blaze overnight in Cherry Hill, according to authorities.

Firefighters responded to the home Saturday night and remained on the scene into the early morning hours Sunday, the Deer Park Fire Co. said in a social media post, sharing images from the scene, including of the smoking house.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department posted about the blaze around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on social media, reporting that it occurred in the 500 block of Main Street.

“Firefighters operated under extremely difficult conditions, with bitter cold and strong winds adding to an already dangerous situation,” according to the Deer Park Fire Co. “This incident is a sobering reminder of the risks our first responders face every time they answer the call and the bravery they show, no matter the conditions.”
