12 New Officers Sworn in to Cherry Hill Police Force

Chief Bud Monaghan told officers they should be people first, each and every day.

Cherry Hill, NJ -- “You need to be a human being first, each and every day,” Cherry Hill Police Chief Bud Monaghan told a group of newly hired police officers during a swearing-in ceremony last week, njpen.com reports.

Monaghan went on to explain that the police department doesn’t hire officers by itself; it works with the township to hire people who want to become police officers, according to the report.

The 12 new officers were hired following a recruitment and selection process that lasted for months. A total of 2,500 people applied for positions.
