17 Displaced In Camden Residential Fire, Red Cross Says

CAMDEN, NJ - A residential fire in Camden that prompted an “all hands” response from local firefighters displaced 17 people from three families Monday morning, officials said.

The fire on the 1900 block of Carman Street was first reported by the Camden firefighters’ union shortly before 11 a.m. in a Facebook post. Fire officials noted the “all hands” fire and urged residents to steer clear of the area.

In a video posted to Facebook Monday evening, billowing smoke and fire could be seen spouting from the dwelling’s windows.

There were no injuries reported, the firefighters' union added in a caption to the video. You can watch the video here.

The 17 people displaced from the dwelling were provided with Red Cross emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food and clothing needs, agency officials said.

It was not immediately clear how many people were living in the residence at the time.
