2 Edible Cookie Dough Bars Opening In South Jersey

For those who have ever sampled the dough before the cookie was finished being made, business is about to pick up in South Jersey. Two shops specializing in edible cookie dough are set to open in South Jersey. No opening date has been set yet for either one.

Cookie Dough Bliss will open in Cherry Hill, in Heritage Square on Route 70. The store will be open next to Board & Brush Cherry Hill, Sakura Spring and Mimi’s Pizzeria.

It will feature more than 20 flavors of cookie dough, including gluten free and vegan options. Specialty treats will include signature Bliss Ice Cream Bar, Cookie Dough Pops, Shakes, Sundaes, according to Mandie Morales, who will open the family-run location.

Additionally, they will offer a private room for birthday parties and other special events as well as off-site catering. Catering will include the option of a mini cookie dough bar with attendant, cookie dough pops or bites, or personalized jars of cookie dough.

“The personalization of events are endless and allow us to get creative to match the theme of the celebration,” Morales said in an email. “We look forward offering a fun cookie dough treat at sweet 16's, bar/bat mitzvahs, showers, graduations and other memorable events as we will offer dessert and edible favor options.”

Morales and her family have been living in Cherry Hill for about seven years, and she has children enrolled in the school system. Cookie Dough Bliss originated in Charlotte, NC. The Cherry Hill location will be the first New Jersey franchisee and fifth Scoop Shop to open. Cookie Dough Bliss was the first cookie dough company to offer a franchising opportunity in the United States.

“We look forward to being a bigger part of our community and a fun place that families and local teams can come enjoy a unique dessert concept,” Morales said.

Dough Life, a dessert shop that specializes in edible cookie dough, will open in Deptford soon, according to nj.com.

It serves up edible raw cookie dough like it's ice cream, in waffle cones or bowls, with toppings or straight up. It has flavor mixes such as Peanut Mother Butter (their signature dough mixed with Reece's Pieces and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups), the Tuxedo (their signature dough mixed with crushed Oreos) and King Caramel (their dough mixed with dark chocolate, topped with caramel and sea salt).

Another location in New Jerseyis set to open, on May 5 in Freehold.
