2 More Coronavirus Deaths Reported In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Two more Cherry Hill men — one in his 80s and one in his 60s — have died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Thursday. They were among 13 new deaths that were announced in the county.

A Cherry Hill woman in her 70s and two Cherry Hill men — one in his 70s and one in his 50s — were among 30 new cases announced countywide on Thursday.

There are now 1,088 cases of the coronavirus in Cherry Hill with 156 confirmed deaths. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

“It’s important to remember that even when our cases appear to be low, this disease is still in our community, it is still causing pain, and sadly, it is still taking lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we are wishing speedy recoveries to everyone who has contracted the virus,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Yesterday, the Freeholder Board announced a new grant program aimed at supporting small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Equally important as getting direct support to these enterprises is ensuring that they are able to remain open and operate safely in the months ahead. To do that, we must continue to wear masks, social distance, and reduce the spread of coronavirus to prevent the necessity of another economic shut down in the fall.”

There are now 8,311 cases of the coronavirus in Camden County with 514 confirmed deaths. According to the Camden County Department of Health, there are 1,324 confirmed cases among residents at the county's long-term care facilities, with 305 deaths. Another 498 cases were reported among staff members, with three deaths.
