New Jersey has two of the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the country, new data shows.

Two New Jersey neighborhoods have landed on a list of the country’s most violent communities.

According to recent crime data analyzed by NeighborhoodScout, New Jersey has two of the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the country. NeighborhoodScout looks at FBI data collected by 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in order to determine which neighborhoods made the list. Crimes analyzed include murder, rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

The New Jersey neighborhoods listed as some of the country’s most dangerous include:

  • Ferry Avenue/South 8th Street in Camden, which was ranked 5th
  • Lincoln Street/Court Street in Newark, which was ranked 11th

“These neighborhoods are the epicenters of violence in America, where social issues are likely to ignite into violence and spread,” NeighborhoodScout said in its analysis.
