5 More Coronavirus Cases Reported In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Five Cherry Hill residents were among 48 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Camden County on Thursday. The new cases involve a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s, a man in his 40s, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 40s.

No new fatalities were reported in Cherry Hill or anywhere else in the county on Thursday. Following the reports of the new cases, there are 944 cases of the coronavirus and 113 confirmed deaths in Cherry Hill. There are 7,240 cases in Camden County, with 352 confirmed deaths.

“New Jersey and its residents took this threat extremely seriously from day one, and it is largely because of their sacrifices that we are continuing to see a decline in new cases,” Camden County Freeholder Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “What is happening in other states underscores the dangerous reality of this virus. If we take our eye off the ball for even a few days we could see spread increase exponentially. That’s why we have to continue social distancing, wear a mask when you are in public, stay home if you’re sick, and take this virus seriously. If we keep up guard up and follow the advice of our public health experts we can stop the spread of coronavirus.”

Additionally, the Camden County Department of Health announced that 1,234 cases and 276 deaths have been reported among residents at the county’s 56 long-term care facilities. The nursing homes have also seen 453 cases and three deaths among staff members.
