5-Year-Old Girl Killed In South Jersey Rollover Crash

MAPLE SHADE, NJ — A 5-year-old girl died after she was riding in a Jeep during a rollover crash on June 1, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.

At around 12:45 a.m., officials responded to the 2800 block of Route 73 North for a single-vehicle crash.

Alana Rose Corosanite was ejected from the Jeep. It is not yet clear whether she had been wearing a restraint at the time, officials added.

"Never in a million years would I think this is something I would ever go through," her aunt, Lindsey, said on social media. "For anyone that has ever met Alana knows how bright she was, she lit up the world."

According to her obituary, Alana died on Thursday and will be remembered as a "helper and a hugger, sharing her hugs with everyone."

Along with adventures with her dog "Bo," Alana enjoyed the beach, gardening, and "with just her smile...could relieve anyone of their bad mood."

The driver was rescued from the Jeep by fire officials and taken to Cooper University Hospital with serious but non-critical injuries.

Two other adults who were in the vehicle were also hurt. The status of their injuries is unclear.

No charges have been filed at this time. Toxicology reports and other findings are still being reviewed, the Prosecutor's Office said.

A visitation for Alana was held on Tuesday at Jackson Funeral Home with a memorial service that followed.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center (125 County House Rd., Blackwood).

An online fundraiser to help with funeral costs and support for her three siblings was organized by Alana's grandmother.

More than $10,500 has been raised as of Wednesday morning.
