The other two groups are:

· Advocare Surgical Specialists of Burlington County in Lumberton, Marlton and Willingboro (formerly Kruger & Pacual, MDs)

· Advocare Hager Advanced Vein Care in Manahawkin (formerly Surgical Specialists of New Jersey – Manahawkin)

Together, the 19-surgeon practice operates 11 offices. Its doctors specialize in general surgery, bariatric surgery, colon and rectal surgery, vascular surgery and venous disease. As an independent practice, the group operates at various facilities and is not tied to one hospital or health system.

With the growth, Advocare now offers the expertise of over 500 providers at 96 member practices covering a wide range of specialties, as well as primary care and pediatrics.

“These five surgical practices are an exciting addition to Advocare,” said Chairman and CEO John M. Tedeschi, MD. “They will bring even greater expertise to the Advocare network, and their patients will benefit from the expanded resources that Advocare provides.”

Advocare offers many advantages to both doctors and patients, noted Dr. Larry Cohen of Advocare Associates in General Surgery.

“Advocare will handle the business of running our practice, so we as doctors can focus on caring for our patients,” he said.

Added Dr. Eytan Irwin of the Voorhees and Turnersville group: “As Advocare members, we have a large network of resources at our fingertips, including access to the knowledge and opinions of other experts.”

Colleague Dr. Michael Sasso, in Voorhees and Sewell, noted a growing trend. “More doctors are joining networks to manage their practices, because the business side of health care is growing more complex. Advocare is an expert in that realm.”
