CHERRY HILL, NJ — Two nurses in South Jersey were honored by Jefferson Health for their outstanding clinical skill and compassionate care.

These recognitions are earned internationally and come from nominations submitted by patients, family members, and colleagues.

Winners are then chosen by Jefferson's Clinical Recognition Committee in New Jersey.

Dominy, an Intensive Care Unit nurse at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, was nominated by a patient for her calm approach and attentiveness during a "frightening cardiac episode."

The patient and their family said Dominy's actions left a lasting impact on them and said she clearly saw "a person with a monitor attached, not a monitor with a person attached."

Dauito, an MS-4 Unit nurse at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, was nominated by a patient for her level of care during a 10-day hospital stay.

The submission detailed her attentiveness, positivity, and dedication that helped create a supportive environment with meaningful human connection.

The DAISY Foundation is a nonprofit that was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of an autoimmune disease, and works to honor and financially support nurses worldwide.
