Restaurant Chain Shutting Another Location In South Jersey: See Where

A new dining option is taking its place.

| Updated

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The "Brio Italian Grille" chain will shut its doors at another location in the future, with a new restaurant already lined up to take its place.

Brio's Haddonfield Road location will become a "Fogo de Chão" Brazilian steakhouse at some point in the future, according to an approved zoning permit obtained by Patch.

The new developers are planning to fully enclose the awning-covered outdoor area and reduce the amount of seating from 367 to 296.

Brio, known for a variety of dishes like flatbreads and pasta prepared with a nod to Tuscany in Italy, abruptly closed its restaurant in Marlton just days ago.

While it is still unclear what led to the shutdown, it is not the first to hit New Jersey in 2026.

In February, the Freehold Raceway Mall site also closed at the end of its lease.

Both shutdowns follow an August 2025 filing by its owners, "Bravo Brio Restaurants," for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

This was their second Chapter 11 submission in just five years.

At the time, the company said that it would begin to close underperforming locations.

Cherry Hill is the last "Brio" in the state and one of only 19 left in the company's portfolio.

The location had previously closed in 2020 for eight months due to the coronavirus pandemic before being bought and reopened by Earl Enterprises in November.

Patch has reached out to Brio for more on both the Marlton and Cherry Hill developments, and is yet to hear back.
