1. Rabid Skunk Found In South Jersey: See Where (patch.com) — Cherry Hill officials report that a skunk in the township has tested positive for rabies after fighting with a resident's dog, which has since received a booster shot and is under observation. While no human exposures are known, residents are urged to keep pets vaccinated, supervised outdoors, and away from wild animals and open garbage that may attract rabies carriers.
2. Camden County to Spray for Mosquitoes in Voorhees, Cherry (snjtoday.com) — Overnight tonight, Camden County crews will spray for mosquitoes across several Cherry Hill neighborhoods, including Barclay Farm and numerous surrounding streets, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting. Residents are also urged to dump standing water on their properties to help reduce mosquito breeding and support the county's control efforts.
3. Pickleball: Young people find competition, friendship at Katz JCC (jewishvoicesnj.org) — Young adults in Cherry Hill are flocking to pickleball at the Katz JCC, where nine new outdoor courts and indoor gym time offer easy, social play. Local players say the sport's low barrier to entry, strong community vibe, and solid workout make it a perfect break from work or school, with free beginner lessons available through the JCC's pickleball pro.
4. Inclusion: Rivi Jay's song of purpose (jewishvoicesnj.org) — An 18-year-old Cherry Hill resident and Cherry Hill East graduate is using music and personal experience with autism to advocate for inclusion at school and Temple Beth Sholom. She founded an Autism Acceptance Club, trains educators, and leads Jewish music, turning her neurodivergent strengths into community leadership while preparing to study psychology and public health.
