LINDENWOLD, NJ — A New Jersey Transit railcar hit and killed a person who was trespassing on the tracks Tuesday, agency officials said.
At around 11:10 a.m., train 4620 along the Atlantic City Line was on its way to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station when it struck the pedestrian near the Pinelawn Avenue crossing in Lindenwold.
None of the 120 customers on board or crew members were hurt, NJ Transit added.
The railcar left Atlantic City at 10:12 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at 30th Street at 11:52 a.m.
The service is suspended in both directions between Atco and Cherry Hill as of late Tuesday afternoon.
