CAMDEN, NJ — City leaders are continuing to add resources in order to hold illegal trash disposers accountable.
This now includes the Camden County Police Department's "eye in the sky" network of drone vehicles.
The unit, operated by law enforcement, has already helped catch violators throughout the city.
"Our residents should not have to worry about hazardous materials, pests, or contaminated areas in the places where they live, work, and raise their families," said Commissioner Jennifer Cooley Fleisher.
The city also utilizes the "StopIt" app to solicit anonymous information from residents that has also helped to nail down offenders.
A reward of up to $1,000 is available for anyone who submits information and aids law enforcement in a way that leads to an arrest and conviction regarding improper waste disposal.
"Protecting our environment is also protecting public health, and that responsibility belongs to all of us," Cooley Fleisher added.
In 2026, there have been 68 cases of illegal disposal that were handled by the Camden County Police Department. Thirty-one of those cases resulted in charges.
