• Support breast cancer awareness at these local events (thedailyjournal.com) — Cherry Hill residents have two local ways this month to support breast cancer causes: a Pretty in Pink brunch at Vera Bar & Grill on October 17 and a jazz benefit gala at Caffe Aldo Lamberti on October 29. Both events raise funds for survivor support and awareness, alongside several other South Jersey walks, fashion shows, and fundraisers throughout October.
• Wayfair Confirms Retail Store in Cherry Hill, NJ opening in 2028 (wpst.com) — Wayfair is planning a large 86,000-square-foot retail store at Market Place at Garden State Park on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, bringing in-person furniture and home décor shopping plus free design services. The store is expected to open in late 2028 and aims to draw customers from across South Jersey and the Philadelphia region, with many items available for same-day pickup.
• Audit questions how millions were spent in Newark schools. GOP says it's no surprise. (gothamist.com) — A new state audit of Newark schools is fueling a broader debate over how New Jersey distributes school funding, with Cherry Hill mentioned as an example of districts whose needs differ from heavily funded cities. Education advocates want a more flexible, predictable formula, while some lawmakers argue Newark should receive less so other districts, including suburbs, can gain support.
