Are You Protected Against Unexpected Water Damage?

Water, sump pump failure and sewer backup coverage is often not included in a standard homeowners insurance policy. It is an elected endorsement and you should ask your agent to include it if you have a basement and especially if you have a sump pump in your basement.

With that said, you should check to see if these types of coverages are included in your homeowners policy. For the average sized home adding the homeowners policy endorsement for water and sewer backup is about $75/month for about $5000 worth of coverage. A small price to pay to make sure that you are covered in the event of unexpected water in your basement.

Not sure you're covered for water damage? I'll be happy to review your NJ homeowners policy. Call me at 856-429-6000 ext. 336. I will get in touch within 24 business hours of your request.
