BurgerFi Permanently Closes After Only Half A Year In Cherry Hill
It wasn't exactly fast food, but it did close fast. What should replace the burger joint on Kings Highway North?

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The chain is called BurgerFi, but it's already in and out of Cherry Hill. The fast-casual burger joint, which opened in the township last fall, has permanently shuttered.
The location on 1584 Kings Hwy. N opened in late September, bringing the BurgerFi brand to South Jersey. But the chain serving "stylish, eco-minded" burgers recently closed after only half a year.
It wasn't immediately clear why BurgerFi in Cherry Hill closed so quickly. Patch reached out to BurgerFi's media contact and will update with any response.

BurgerFi has roughly 120 locations, first opening in 2011 in Florida. But BurgerFi has had difficulty expanding into the New Jersey market.
The fast-casual restaurant opened in New Brunswick in 2014, only to close about 18 months later. A location in Secaucus also permanently shuttered.

BurgerFi opened in January at the newly renovated Terminal A in Newark Liberty International Airport. But as an airport location, customers can't exactly pop in for a meal anytime.
New Jersey is now a BurgerFi desert, with no brick-and-mortar locations. The closest BurgerFi locations to the state are the two restaurants in Philadelphia and one eatery in Brooklyn.
