Camden Catholic's Chad Walsh, Jeff Miller Go for State Titles Sunday
The two are among three wrestlers still in it for the Irish in the final day of action in Atlantic City.

Camden Catholic will have two wrestlers going for state titles Sunday, and a third going for a top-3 spot in the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) individual tournament in Atlantic City.
Chad Walsh (152) and Jeff Miller (heavyweight) both survived tight decisions in the quarterfinals and semis Saturday to qualify for the championships, and both will have rematches from earlier in the season in the finals.
Walsh will get a familiar foe—Northern Burlington’s Wayne Stinson, the same wrestler Walsh beat on his way to a Region 7 title last weekend. That region final was a tight one, with Walsh pulling off a 4-2 win.

He got there by beating John Hennelly, 4-2, in a sudden victory overtime win in the quarters, then followed that with a 4-2 victory over South Plainfield’s Dylan Painton in the semis.
Jeff Miller, meanwhile, scored a 6-3 decision over Anthony Tufaro, of Scotch Plains-Fanwood, in the quarterfinals, then scored an ultimate tiebreaker win over St. Joseph’s (Montvale) Kevin Wilkins, 3-2, to reach the finals at heavyweight.

Miller will also face his Region 7 opponent, Haddon Heights’ Alex Thompson, with the hopes of a better result this go-round. Thompson won that bout by a 5-1 decision.
T.J. Miller, meanwhile, won’t get to wrestle for a title, but still has a shot at third. He scored a win in the quarterfinal by pinning Ashanti Maurice, of Howell, but lost in semis 4-3 to Troy Hellman, of South Plainfield.
He will need to beat West Essex’s Mike Marotti to get into the consolation final Sunday.
Mark McCormick and Tyler McBride both lost in the wrestleback rounds.
