MANCHESTER, NJ — A Camden County man was in critical condition following a crash Tuesday morning in Ocean County, authorities said.

Jeremy D. Bier, 42, of Pennsauken, sustained multiple "severe" injuries to his entire body after his pickup truck hit several trees and overturned in Manchester, police said. He was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 10:35 a.m. on Horicon Avenue — about a half-mile east of Route 530.

Bier was driving a white 2020 Toyota Tacoma west on Horicon Avenue when he crossed the center line, left the road and hit several trees, investigators determined. After hitting the trees the Toyota rotated 180 degrees and overturned, coming to rest on its driver's side facing east in the eastbound lane of Horicon Avenue, said Manchester Police Lt. Albert Vega.

The crash investigation remains ongoing. But Bier's failure to maintain lane and wear a seatbelt appear to be the primary contributing factors, police said.
