Camden County Prepares For Weekend Snow

A storm is expected to drop 1.5 inches of snow on the region Saturday morning.

Camden County is preparing for a storm that may drop 1.5 inches of snow on the region Saturday morning. Additionally, a Code Blue Weather Advisory remains in effect through Jan. 2.

“The Camden County Department of Public Works is working to make sure that roads remain clear throughout the day, but we are asking for drivers to remain extra cautious behind the wheel,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo said. “Anyone on the roadways on Saturday should be prepared to encounter slick road conditions, especially in the evening. We ask that motorists leave at least six car lengths behind our DPW vehicles while they work.”

Flurries are expected to begin sometime between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday, and a light snow could then fall intermittently until between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Although the snow is expected to be light, temperatures will return to the teens in the evening and will bring about a heightened threat of a freeze-up of wet surfaces and slush. A lingering shower could return between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. delivering up to an additional half-inch of snow.
