Camden Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting: Prosecutor
Although the suspect and victim have the same first and last name, they are not related, officials said.
CAMDEN, NJ — A man was charged Monday for his role in a fatal shooting in Camden, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO).
Jose O. Rivera, 34, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 47-year-old Jose G. Rivera. Although the men — both Camden residents — share a first and last name, they are not related, officials said.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Camden County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at about 12:45 p.m. Oct. 15 on 7th and Bailey Streets. That's where they found an individual — later identified as Jose G. Rivera — suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, the CCPO said.
Officials took Jose G. Rivera to Cooper University Hospital. He was pronounced dead at about 1 p.m.
