Camden Shooting Kills Man, Injures Woman: Prosecutor

A 33-year-old man succumbed to his gunshot wounds, but the woman has been released from the hospital, authorities said.

CAMDEN, NJ — A Friday night shooting killed a man and injured a woman in Camden, authorities said.

Police were dispatched at about 8 p.m. for the reported shooting at the 2800 block of Hull Road, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO). That's where authorities found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds — Akeem Jenkins and a 32-year-old Camden woman.

Both were taken to Cooper University Hospital, where Jenkins, 33, succumbed to his injuries, officials said. The Camden resident was pronounced dead at 8:41 p.m.

The woman has been released from the hospital.
