Car Fire Stops Traffic On NJ Turnpike Thursday

The road reopened about an hour after the fire, state police tell Patch.

CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ — A car fire temporarily shut the New Jersey Turnpike in Cherry Hill Township Thursday afternoon, state police told Patch.

The fire was reported in the southbound lanes a little after 12 noon at mile marker 31, an official said. The driver of the car was got out and was not hurt, the official continued.

The roadway was reopened about 1 hour later, state police said.
