Car Seat Check: Safety Event Friday In Cherry Hill
A free check for parents and guardians in Cherry Hill will help keep babies and children safe in the car.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Make sure you have the right car seat for your child, and that it is installed properly, at a free check in Cherry Hill on Friday.
The event is Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Deer Park Station, 985 Cropwell Road in Cherry Hill. No appointment is necessary.
Child safety seat technicians will be checking seats for factory recalls as well, the fire department said.

In passenger cars, car seats and booster seats reduce the risk of fatal injuries by 71 percent for infants and by 54 percent for toddlers (aged 1-4), according to The National Highway Traffic Security Administration (NHTSA). Still, car crashes are a leading cause of death for children aged 1-13, the NHTSA says.
