Sweeten Up Your Weekend With Galentine's Day Events Around Cherry Hill

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Valentine's Day isn't just for sharing time and love with a romantic partner — many celebrate the love and companionship of friends, too.

Female friendship, especially, is the focus of "Galentine's Day," which we semi-officially toast on Feb. 13. A number of local businesses and wineries around southern New Jersey have special events this weekend to celebrate with your gals. Wine and Chocolate Trail Weekends are going on at wineries in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Salem counties.

Galentine’s Day is built on the same spirit as Valentine’s Day on the 14th in many sweet ways, but also like Valentine’s Day, it is entirely and completely made up. But it has such a following that Merriam-Webster added it to the dictionary last year. Related article — What Is Galentine's Day?

Valentine's Day coffee flights to share with friends

Koupa Espresso Bar in Haddonfield is offering flights of four Valentine's-themed coffees for $29 a person (ticket required). The tasting is Feb. 12 at 4:30 p.m.

Common Grounds Coffeehouse in Oaklyn is also doing flights of four or more coffee flavors to try (reservation required). The event is Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wine and Chocolate Trail weekends at South Jersey wineries

• William Heritage Winery – Mullica Hill & Haddonfield

Walk-ins welcome and reservations are available at both locations. Offering a special tasting menu of wines and handmade chocolate from Mecha Chocolate every day in February.

• Valenzano Winery– Shamong, NJ (Burlington Co)

Four truffles each paired with a sample of Valenzano’s signature wines on Feb. 11 and 12.

• Stokelan Winery – Medford, NJ (Burlington Co)

Stokelan Winery partnered with Reily’s Candy for a wine and chocolate pairing and tasting. Reserve your spot on their website for Feb. 9-12 and Feb. 16-19.

• Cedarvale Winery – Logan Township, NJ (Gloucester Co)

Wine flights paired with sweet chocolate samples on Feb. 11 and 12.

• Salem Oak Vineyards – Pedricktown, NJ (Salem Co)

Salem Oak paired with Sweet Mary’s Chocolates for a wine and truffle pairing, and are also offering a Chocolate Strawberry Wine Slushie. They have reservations for Feb. 11 and 12, for $14.99 a person. Call 856-889-2121.

• Auburn Road Vineyards – Pilesgrove, NJ (Salem Co)

Offering wine and chocolate pairings every day in February

with artisan chocolates from the Candy Jar in Collingswood. $27 per person.

• Blue Cork Winery – Williamstown, NJ (Gloucester Co)

Hot chocolate wine, specialty drinks, homemade chocolate and port and chocolate flights. Tastings Feb. 10-12 and 17-19.

• Cookie decorating kits at Crave Pitman (Gloucester Co)

If you aren't a fan of going out Crave Pitman has a cookie decorating kit to take home and have a girls' night in — They also have Fondue for Two and Cookie Grams.

• Galentine’s Day at Maria’s Bread Sandwiches – Collingswood

Wine, food and flowers for $90! Bring your girlfriend’s to Maria’s to experience a night of five wines from Polyester Wine, an eight-foot grazing table and a build your own flower bouquet bar by South Stems. Wine, food, and flowers on Feb. 13 from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $90 each.
