Chapel Avenue In Cherry Hill Closed For Road Work This Week

A portion of the road will be closed for construction at the corner of Chapel Avenue and Highland Avenue.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Chapel Avenue south in Cherry Hill will be closed to all traffic for four days this week, police said on Monday. Chapel Avenue south will be closed between Highland Avenue and Woodland Avenue, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day from Monday, July 15, through Thursday, July 18.

The road will be closed for construction at the corner of Chapel Avenue and Highland Avenue, police said. The northbound side will remain open during road work. The following detour will be in place:

  • The detour for traffic on Rt 38 eastbound turning right onto Chapel will be to pass Chapel Ave and make the next right turn onto Woodland Ave, then turn left onto Chapel to proceed south toward Haddonfield Road.
  • The detour for traffic already on Chapel headed south (from Merchantville toward Rt 38) will be to make a right turn onto Hollywood Ave, a right turn onto Rt 38 westbound, turn around at either Longwood Ave or Cuthbert Blvd to get onto Rt 38 east, then make the right turn onto Woodland Ave and the left turn back onto Chapel Ave .

Police will be on hand to assist with traffic. Police will strictly enforce the "No Left Turns" restriction at Route 38 and Chapel Avenue.
