Charity Basketball Tournament Returns To Katz JCC In Cherry Hill Next Month

The Sussman tournament on June 22 will benefit a program to help children in need attend basketball programs.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The 12th annual Sussman 3-on-3 Adult Basketball Tournament, held in honor of Eric and Andy Sussman, take place at the Betty and Milton Katz Jewish Community Center (Katz JCC) on Thursday, June 22, 6 p.m. The Sussman brothers were both members of the JCC, and avid basketball players. Katz JCC is located at 1301 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill.

Upon their passing, JCC members and friends of the Sussman brothers started a fundraiser and charity tournament. What started out as a small event in 2004 has grown bigger each year.

“The Sussman tournament is a true mesh of energies from the Sussman family, the Katz JCC, and the committee members many of which who are people who grew up literally with Eric and Andy,” JCC Sports and Leagues Director Bill Christy said. “It’s an honor to keep their memory alive through this event every year. … Almost everyone knows somebody affected by cancer, and it means so much more as an event for the community.”
