Cherry Hill Celebrating Juneteenth With Parade, Festival Next Week
The 3rd annual celebration includes a day of performances, food trucks and activities at Croft Farm.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Cherry Hill African American Civic Association will host a full day of Juneteenth celebrations, with the third-annual parade and festival approaching.
Festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at Croft Farm. (The holiday itself is observed on June 19.)
Juneteenth commemorates the date in 1865, when word reached the last enslaved people in Texas that the Civil War had ended and they were free. Celebrations date back to 1866, but Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021.
