Cherry Hill East Ranked Among Top Suburban Schools By Philly Mag

Cherry Hill East was among four New Jersey schools ranked among the top 40 suburban schools by Philadelphia Magazine.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill High School East is among the 40 best schools in the suburban Philadelphia area, according to a list recently compiled by Philadelphia Magazine.

As districts across the country figure out how to return to school amid the coronavirus pandemic, Philadelphia Magazine recently published its list of the 40 Top-Rated Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs.

Cherry Hill East was included among the top suburban schools, which included schools in Burlington and Camden counties in New Jersey, and Delaware, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania.

Schools were listed alphabetically, so no numerical ranking was assigned. There were 25 suburban schools and 15 schools from the City of Philadelphia. Four New Jersey schools made the list, including Cherry Hill East, Cinnaminson, Haddonfield and Moorestown.

According to the list, Cherry Hill East has a graduation rate of 98 percent and 91 percent of the high school’s population go on to attend college. Average SAT scores are 612 for verbal and 633 for math. Student enrollment is 2,185 and the student-to-teacher ratio is 16:1.

The magazine used the data from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education and the National Center for Education Statistics to look at factor's such as enrollment, student-teacher ratio, SAT scores, and students who go on to attend college, among other factors.
