Cherry Hill East Wrestling Opens Up 2-0
The Cougars get convincing wins over Mainland and Maple Shade to start the 2012-2013 season.
After a middle-of-the-pack finish at the Garden State Classic this weekend, Cherry Hill East's wrestlers bounced back and knocked off Mainland, 54-17, to open the season 2-0.
East did most of its damage through the middle of the lineup, and got pins from Dan Bendik (126), Aaron Gomez (132), Patrick Swenson (145), Max Caldas (160), Daishi Goto (182), Jerry Peralta (195) and Jon Minion (220).
The Cougars started their season with a 60-12 win over Maple Shade, and followed that with a fifth-place finish at the Garden State Classic. Swenson (145) and Perala (195) each finished second in their weight classes at the tournament.
