Cherry Hill East's Jake Silpe Commits to University of Pennsylvania
He will play basketball for the Quakers and attend the Wharton School of Business.
Cherry Hill East’s Jake Silpe is taking his game to the Ivy League.
The senior guard committed to play basketball at the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
“Officially committed to play basketball at The University of Pennsylvania and study at the Wharton School of Business,” Silpe announced on Twitter, using the hashtags #blessed and #GoQuakers.

Slipe, a 6-foot-2 guard, was deciding between teams in the Ivy League and teams in the Patriot League, according to cityofbasketballlove.com. He said not going to Penn would be a “lost opportunity.”
Slipe helped Cherry Hill East to its first South Jersey Group IV title in 2014.

He’s been described as the “heart and soul” of the Cougars basketball team, and showed why when he scored 14 points in the fourth quarter of a game against Eastern while simultaneously battling the flu in 2013.
Silpe will be a senior at Cherry Hill East this season, and joins the Quakers for the 2015-16 campaign.
