Cherry Hill High School Football Teams Pick Up Opening Night Wins

Cherry Hill East defeated Eastern and Cherry Hill West downed Triton.

Both Cherry Hill football teams started the season on a winning note Friday night.

Nick Alberto and Harrison Hand each accounted for two touchdowns in the Cherry Hill High School West’s 27-2 win over Triton in the season opener for both teams Friday night, according to nj.com,

Alberto threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Hand and scored on a 42-yard run. Hand scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Harry Einsley capped the scoring for Cherry Hill West with an 18-yard touchdown run.

The Cherry Hill West defense pitched a shutout against Timber Creek, whose only points came on a safety in the second quarter.

Jay-Jay Vaughters and Vincent Guckin each accounted for two touchdowns in the Cherry Hill High School East’s 28-21 win over Eastern, according to nj.com.

Vaughters scored on runs of 5 and 4 yards. Guckin scored on a 1-yard run and a 15-yard pass.

Eastern scored first, but Cherry Hill East had four consecutive touchdowns to take a huge lead, then held on for the win.
