Cherry Hill Man Attempted To Stab Ex-Wife: Police

Philip Puche has been arrested after police said he attempted to stab his ex-wife over the weekend.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill man has arrested after authorities said he attempted to stab his ex-wife over the weekend.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Turtledove Court and Road C in Audubon Park at about 10 a.m. Sunday, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Haddon Township Police Chief Mark Cavallo.

The victim was able to name 72-year-old Philip Puche as her attacker before she was taken to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition as of Monday, police said.

Detectives viewed surveillance footage of the attack, as well as footage of Puche driving in the area of her home the day of the attack, police said.

Cherry Hill police arrested Puche, and charged him with one count each of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree armed robbery, second-degree burglary, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault of a domestic violence victim, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Puche was being held in the Camden County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
