Cherry Hill Man May Serve Over 150 Years on Child Porn Charges
Sylvester H. Chew, 67, was found guilty on 66 counts of child pornography.

A Cherry Hill man convicted on child porn charges faces a possible sentence of over 150 years in state prison, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Cherry Hill Police Chief Bud Monaghan said on Wednesday.
Sylvester H. Chew, 67, was found guilty on 66 counts of child pornography, including 37 counts for possession of child pornography, 13 counts for creating child pornography, 13 counts for invasion of privacy, two counts for criminal attempt to endanger the welfare of a child and one count for endangering the welfare of a child.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 28.

Chew was convicted of using small cameras hidden in a bathroom and bedroom at his home to secretly photograph or film a young girl, who was between 9 and 12 years old, while she was nude. He did this between April of 2008 and August of 2011, when she was living in Chew’s home.
A jury decided based on evidence and testimony at trial that Chew possessed hundreds of sexually explicit images and videos of the girl and other children.

Chew also asked the girl to sleep in the nude and to pose nude with him for a photo shoot.
Chew was arrested at his home in August 2011 after another adult reported the crimes to the police.
