Cherry Hill School Superintendent To Join Protest On Juneteenth
Cherry Hill Superintendent Dr. Joseph Meloche will join the Cherry Hill High School East African American Culture Club for a demonstration.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Meloche will join the Cherry Hill High School East African American Culture Club for a demonstration on Friday, the school district announced.
Meloche will march and speak during the demonstration at 3 p.m. “Learning Begins Now; Stop the Ignorance” is being held in recognition of Juneteenth, an unofficial holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in America.
The march will begin at the Whole Foods parking lot at the Ellisburg Shopping Center at Route 70 & Kings Highway, and will end at the Cherry Hill Public Library at 1100 Kings Highway N.

“We will march peacefully to honor and defend all the lives unjustly taken by police brutality,” the Cherry Hill East African American Culture Club said in its announcement. “We will discuss the importance of educating ourselves as a community.”
The march will follow health guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Marchers are asked to wear masks, bring water and bring positivity and love.

It is the latest in a series of marches that have been organized in the wake of the police-involved killing of George Floyd in Minnesota.
