Cherry Hill Schools See 10 Percent Reduction In State Aid Figures

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Cherry Hill Public School District will see a reduction of 10.8 percent in state aid from what was previously announced, according to numbers announced by Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday.

Cherry Hill schools will receive $19,528,845 in state aid for the 2020-21 school year. This is down by $2,369,918 from the $21,898,763 in state aid announced by the state in February, before the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

However, it is up from the $18,424,898 in state aid the district received for the 2019-20 school year. The difference is $1,103,947, or 6 percent.

Funding for all school districts remains consistent with what Murphy announced in July, keeping the state on track to fully fund public schools.
