Cherry Hill Students Among Moorestown Friends School Seniors Recognized by National Merit Scholarship Program

The students were honored for their exceptional academic skills.

Two students from Cherry Hill were among seven Moorestown Friends School seniors who were recently named as a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Alexandra Katsnelson and Samuel Milligan were among those honored who were among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

The other honored students were: Travis Benedict (Willingboro), Alden Dunham (Medford), Joshua Murdy (Hainesport), Julian Perkowski (Lumberton), and Natalia Queenan (Mount Laurel).

The seniors are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise and each senior received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program.

Although the seven students will not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, they are being congratulated for their outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.

“The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” National Merit Scholarship Program officials said. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
