Cherry Hill Teen Took Out Handgun In South Jersey: Police

The juvenile is a student in the Cherry Hill School District, but his identity has remained confidential.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill teen was arrested Thursday after brandishing a handgun in a nearby town, authorities said.

The suspect, 17, removed the firearm from his waistband during a "verbal exchange" with other juveniles Dec. 8 in Cinnaminson, police said. In the process, he racked the slide of the handgun.

A bystander recorded the incident on their cell phone and turned the video over to police.

Authorities executed a search warrant around 5 a.m. Thursday at the teen's home, finding evidence of the incident. He was arrested and charged with several juvenile-delinquency offenses.

Cinnaminson police noted that the suspect is a student in the Cherry Hill School District. But no additional identifying information has been revealed.
