Cherry Hill West Baseball Team Continues Play in Diamond Classic This Weekend
The Lions were upset by Washington Township in the South Jersey Group 4 playoffs on Thursday.

Cherry Hill, NJ -- A 13-1 loss to the Washington Township High School baseball team in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 playoffs isn’t the end of the season for Cherry Hill West.
The third-seeded Lions were upset by the 11th-seeded Minutemen in the quarterfinals on Thursday, according to nj.com.
However, due to last weekend’s inclement weather, Cherry Hill West still has games to look forward to this weekend.

Cherry Hill West is one of eight teams still alive in the 43rd annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic.
Cherry Hill West will play Eastern in the quarterfinals on Saturday at Washington Township, 1 p.m.

The winner plays the winner of the game between Lenape and St. Joseph Hammonton in the semifinals at Washington Township at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The final will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Lions defeated West Deptford, 1-0, in the first round of the tournament.

A total of 16 teams from what is traditionally considered the South Jersey area compete in the Diamond Classic, which is considered the unofficial championship tournament of South Jersey.
At the state level, four South Jersey champions are crowned in four classifications based on size, so this tournament essentially determines the best of the best in the region.
Ten teams qualify because they were in first place in their division at the cutoff date, and six other teams qualify as wild-card teams.
Cherry Hill West earned an at-large bid to the tournament.
