Cherry Hill West Caps Best Season Since 1967 With Thanksgiving Day Win Over Cherry Hill East

The Lions downed the Cougars, 40-0.

Cherry Hill, NJ -- The Cherry Hill High School West football team capped the program’s best season since 1967 with a 40-0 win over rival Cherry Hill East on Thanksgiving, nj.com reports.

The Lions finished the season with an 8-2 record, and defeated the Cougars for the third year in a row.
Cherry Hill East was 0-10 this season, but leads the all-time series with their inter-township rival, 31-17.

Harrison Hand had a pair of punt returns for touchdowns, one of 30 yards and one of 50 yards. Lorenzo Hernandez recovered a fumble and returned it 50 yards for a score.

Sameer Parks delivered a 60-yard pass to Monte Williams for a touchdown. Nick DiVietro reached the end zone on the ground from 1 yard out, and Shawn St. John capped the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run.

Cherry Hill West’s season included an appearance in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 playoffs.
