CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill man in his 70s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Wednesday.

He was one of four new coronavirus-related fatalities announced in Camden County on Wednesday. The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

  • A Cherry Hill man in his 70s;
  • A Camden man in his 70s;
  • A Voorhees man in his 70s; and
  • A Somerdale woman in her 80s.

“We are saddened to announce four additional deaths caused by coronavirus in Camden County today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Today, the governor officially announced that restaurants will be allowed to resume outdoor dining later this month, with certain social distancing measures in place. Thanks to the actions of our residents and the leaders in our communities, we are on a real path to meaningful recovery. As we always caution, this progress is fragile, and we all must continue to do our part to stop the spread of coronavirus. Please continue to wear a mask in public, stay home if you are sick, and follow the guidance of public health experts.”

Fourteen Cherry Hill residents were also among the 59 additional cases of the coronavirus announced in Camden County on Wednesday. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

As of Wednesday, there were 915 cases of the coronavirus in Cherry Hill, with 108 confirmed deaths. Residents in Cherry Hill nursing homes account for 422 cases and 101 deaths, according to new numbers posted by the state on Wednesday. Staff members account for 148 cases and three deaths.

In Camden County, there are now 6,912 cases with 343 confirmed deaths. Residents at Camden County’s 56 long-term care facilities account for 1,177 cases and 249 confirmed deaths. Staff members account for 439 cases and three confirmed deaths.

The following information is available about the latest coronavirus cases in Cherry Hill:

  • Two women in their 40s;
  • Two women in their 80s;
  • Two men in their 80s;
  • A woman in her 90s;
  • Two men in their 60s;
  • Two women in their 70s;
  • A woman in her 30s;
  • A man in his 20s; and
  • A man in his 90s.
