CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill woman in her 90s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Wednesday. She was one of seven new deaths that were announced countywide.

There were no new cases reported in Cherry Hill on Wednesday. In Cherry Hill, there are 978 confirmed cases of the coronavirus with 134 deaths. Countywide, there are 7,591 cases of the coronavirus with 437 confirmed deaths.

“This is an extremely dangerous disease, and it is still very much with us in our community even as our cases decline,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of all those we have lost to this insidious virus. Across the state, we are in a much better position than we were just a few short months ago, but that does not mean that this war is over. If we do not vigilantly practice social distancing, mask wearing, and other proactive measures to prevent the spread, we will see an increase in cases. Just like other states that are now seeing spikes of COVID-19 transmission, we could find ourselves moving in the wrong direction if we let our guards down.”
